H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, participated today in the "Digital Forensics and Analysis Summit" involving Gulf Cooperation Council, GCC, member countries.
His participation in the summit is part of the "Future Foresight Programme" of the Ministry of Interior, which aims to develop forward-thinking strategies and plans to create futuristic solutions, guarantee the country’s ongoing development, face challenges in the area of police work, and support proactive initiatives that foresee the future.
Lt. General Al Nahyan took part in a discussion session during a workshop about the future of digital investigations, which included experts, specialists and analysts in forensics and photography, along with forensic doctors and technical services providers of data protection and information security.
During an exhibition on the sidelines of the summit, he also reviewed the latest technologies in investigations and advanced digital forensics from several specialised companies and organisations.
The two-day summit, held at the Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort and Spa Hotel, was organised by the Directorate-General of Strategy and Performance Development at the Ministry of Interior, in co-operation with a company that specialises in organising scientific conferences.
The summit was attended by Ali bin Subaih Al Kaabi, Customs Commissioner and Chairman of the Federal Customs Authority; Counsellor Dr Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, UAE Attorney-General; Brigadier Hamad Ajlan Al Amimi, Director-General of the Federal Criminal Police at the Ministry of the Interior, and several officials from the ministry.
The summit also saw the participation of representatives of Public Prosecution at the Judicial Department, the General Directorate of Electronic Services, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, and the National Electronic Security Authority, as well as officers from the Electronic Laboratory of the Abu Dhabi Police and the Dubai Police, the Crime Scene Department, the Criminal Laboratories Department, and a group of "digital evidences" students from the Higher Colleges of Technology, and nominated female students from the Police College.
Brigadier Mohammed Humaid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Acting Secretary-General of the Office of H.H the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, stressed that the summit aims to unify efforts and exchange opinions, in order to face future challenges, create solutions, specify priorities and support the process of combining the Ministry’s major future foresight initiatives, guaranteeing current and future security.
Colonel Dr. Faisal Sultan Al Shuaibi, Deputy Director-General of Strategy and Performance Development at the Ministry of Interior, give a speech at the start of the summit to welcome the attendees, where he stated that the UAE’s development and excellence is not purely due to coincidence, but is the result of long-term and diligent work based on the vision of the country’s government and leadership, who prioritised the preparation and training of its human resources, who are the foundation of the nation’s development, advancement and overall success.
