Pope Francis called upon the international community to find a solution for the crisis in Syria and silence weapons in it, stressing that the solution is reached through meetings and dialogue, not through confrontation. Pope Francis called upon the international community to show more compassion and participate as much as possible in helping Syria find a solution to the fighting, destruction and death, stressing that the ability to meet and hold dialogue are what leads to resolving issues, not confrontation. He also voiced pain and concern over what is happening in Syria, denouncing the escalating violence in "a war among brothers" and the increase in massacres and atrocities, saying that he is praying for all the victims and all those who are in pain.
