Palestinian presidency announced Wednesday that it will deal with any elected U.S. president on basis of achieving just peace based on the the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the borders of 1967.

Palestinian president's spokesperson Nabil Abu Rdeinah told Xinhua that what is required from the American administration is to understand that there would be no security of stability in the Middle East without resolving the Palestinian cause.

Abu Rdeinah's statements came in reaction to the official announcement of Republican candidate Donald Trump as president-elect of the U.S. after winning over Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton on most of the states.

The Palestinian official news agency reported that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas congratulated President-elect and hoped to achieve just peace through his tenure.

The Palestinian Foreign Minister Riad Malki said that judging the new U.S. president toward the Palestinian cause would come after seeing his positions in the White House.

He added "we must wait to make judgement based on the steps the new president will take."

Malki reiterated the Palestinian position on dealing with pragmatic politics and that all options must be open and being prepared for all that is good not the worst possible case scenario.

Meanwhile, Islamic Hamas movement said that the Palestinian people "does not count much" on any coming change in the U.S. presidency after electing Donald Trump.

Hamas spokesperson Sami Abu Zohri said in a telephone interview with Xinhua that "the U.S. policy toward the Palestinian cause is fixed and based on bias toward Israel."

The peace talks between Israel and Palestine have been stalled since April 2014. The U.S.-sponsored talks that lasted for nine months achieved no tangible results.
