Jordanian embassy in Washington announced that Jordanian King Abdullah is scheduled to start a visit to the U.S on Monday, to be the first Arab president visiting the U.S since the inauguration of President Donald Trump last week.
The embassy said, on its account on “Twitter”, that the Jordanian king will visit the U.S to hold meetings with the new administration and congress, while it has not mentioned whether he will meet with Trump or not.
The visit comes days after the recent visit that the Jordanian king conducted to Russia in which he met with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin to appreciate the Russian efforts to contain the Syrian crisis. It also comes in coincidence with Trump’s decision to prevent the entry of refugees coming from Syria, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen and Iran
