International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr took part on Wednesday in the government simulation program, which is held as part of the Presidential Leadership Program (PLP) on the sidelines of Egypt's first National Youth Conference, that kicked off on Tuesday.
The participating youths presented their visions as regards the way the government should act in the economic and development domains and the way it should handle crises like the flood one.
Nasr lauded the program presented by the simulation government, saying this experiment is very important as it helps youths learn how to work under pressure, listen to citizens' needs, interact with media outlets and listen to the other opinion.
She said Egypt is facing many challenges both at home and abroad which signals the importance of drafting a social program that runs parallel to the economic program and cares for most needy families in the areas that need development like North Sinai, Upper Egypt and Alamean.
She reviewed the priorities of the Egyptian government, namely fighting poverty, enhancing economic growth, improving the quality of education and medical care and depending more on renewable energy.
On Tuesday, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi opened the three-day National Youth Conference with the participation of a large number of senior officials and media people.
Over 3,000 youths from different backgrounds are also taking part in the event.
The conference addresses the exchange rate crisis, monetary policy and the proposals by youths in this regard.
The conferees also tackle the Egyptian bourse's role in achieving economic development.
The conference focuses on ways of supporting small and medium sized enterprises within the framework of confronting unemployment.
The Egyptian president has declared 2016 the “year of Egyptian youth.”
