His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today attended the Royal Academy of Police (RAP) award ceremony to honour the tenth class of candidate officers. His Royal Highness was welcomed by the Minister of Interior, Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, and other senior officers from the Ministry of Interior.
His Royal Highness recognised the important role security officers play in protecting the safety of Bahrain and its people, stressing that their professionalism remains a key component of Bahrain’s development success, driven by His Majesty King Hamad’s comprehensive development programme.
His Royal Highness congratulated the Minister of Interior on the graduation ceremony, noting Bahrain’s pride in security officers’ unwavering commitment and the sacrifices they continue to make to protect the country.
His Royal Highness went on to extend his best wishes to all graduating officers, and stressed that the rule of law, human rights and modern practices must continue to underpin every aspect of their role in protecting the country and its citizens.
The Minister of Interior gave remarks at the graduation ceremony, highlighting the role of His Majesty the King, His Royal Highness the Prime Minister and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince in supporting the Ministry of Interior and its objectives.
The Minister of Interior also affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to continue advancing police capabilities and skill-sets through modern policing and law enforcement programmes. The Minister of Interior stressed that advancing security capabilities remains a priority to meet current complex challenges. The Minister of Interior concluded by extending his gratitude to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince for attending the graduation ceremony.
The Chief of Public Security and Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Royal Academy of Police, Major-General Tariq Al Hassan highlighted the extensive training and development programmes undertaken by the graduating officers. The Major-General outlined that modern training techniques inform every aspect of the Academy’s development programmes, which incorporate internationally recognised law enforcement and human rights best practises. Major-General Tariq Al Hassan concluded by emphasising His Majesty’s recognition of the vital role played by security officers in safeguarding the security and stability of the country.
Prior to the graduate officers’ commissioning parade, His Royal Highness inspected the officer-cadets’ parade, during which the officer cadets took their oath. His Royal Highness then honoured the Academy’s top achievers.
The Minister of Interior went on to award commissioning certificates to the officer cadets, wishing them success in their future endeavours.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, son of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, accompanied His Royal Highness during the ceremony.
