HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani this morning visited the Railway Project in the West Bay to inspect the progress made so far in the completion of infrastructure projects in Qatar.
HH the Emir was briefed on models and images on what will be the project in the future. He also viewed models of the Doha Metro and Lusail Light Rail Transit with its various sections such as the First Golden Class "Golden" Cabin, the Family Cabin and the Standard Class.
HH the Emir was briefed on the internal train designs and their external forms, passenger services along with safety and security equipment. He also visited the Educational Center of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, which educates school students and encourages them to make optimal use of these modern transportation.
At the end of the visit, HH the Emir listened to an explanation on the Public Works Authority (Ashghal)'s projects for 2017 as well as future projects, including plots of land for citizens, highways, development of local roads and sewerage networks, as well as green field projects.
HH the Emir urged to speed up infrastructure projects of various types within the due time frame in implementation of the strategic goals of Qatar National Vision (QNV) 2030 and to enhance the welfare of citizens and meet their needs. HH the Emir was accompanied by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani.
