German Interior Minister Thomas de Maizière left here on Thursday wrapping up a two-day visit to Egypt.
He was seen off at the airport by an Egyptian assistant interior minister and a raft of employees of the German Embassy in Cairo.
During his stay, de Maizière held talks with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Grand Imam of Al Azhar Ahmed El Tayyeb.
The German interior minister met also with his Egyptian counterpart Magdy Abdel Ghaffar as they discussed prospects of cooperation between the two countries in the security domain and the latest developments in the Mideast region.
