Victor Rizkallah, member of the Presidential Advisory Council of Scientists and Experts of Egypt, urged Egyptian young people to learn at least two foreign languages and to hone their technical skills.
Technical professions are the basis of the economy in advanced states like Germany, the Egyptian scientist said, urging youths not to be embarrassed by certain careers.
"We all need each other and we should be aware that we do complete one another," Rizkallah said during an open discussion held Saturday as part of Al Molhem, or “I Inspire” project organized by the Supreme Council of Culture in cooperation with Tahrir Lounge project.
The project is sponsored by the Goethe Institute in Cairo and was launched shortly after the January 25 Revolution to help Egypt’s young people discover their talents and enrich their creativity.
Rizkallah urged youths to pay more attention to Arabic language, referring to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives to the council members to write the reports in classical Arabic language.
Secretary general of the Supreme Council of Culture Amel Saban, founder and director of Tahrir Lounge Mona Shahine as well as a number of university professors and public figures attended the event.
