The World Darts Federation (WDF) approved Egypt's request to organize an international darts competition in mid 2017 after Egypt won the membership of the international federation at its annual meeting in the presence of 67 countries participating in Europe Cup Darts 2016 held in Amsterdam, Netherland.
In statements to MENA, The Egyptian Darts Federation (EDF) Chairman Yehia Abdelkader said the Egyptian federation will take part in the World Champion of Darts to be held in Japan in October 2017.
EDF chairman asserted that he is proud that Egypt is the first Arab country to join WDF after the board has unanimously approved its membership request.
The Egyptian darts federation is the first formal federation for darts not in Egypt but in the whole Arab region . IT is also the second darts federation in Middle East. The Egyptian darts federation was established as a result of continuous efforts led by the federation founder. Yehia Abd Alkader.
Darts is a British game that has been widely known among the upper classes of the British society in 1908. The years afterward saw the progression of the game in British public houses; by World War II the majority of pubs had dartboards, and teams and matches with other pubs were arranged on a regular basis
