Culture Minister Helmy el Namnam will participate on Thursday in a ceremony marking the 170th birthday anniversary of Kazakh poet and composer Abai Qunanbaiuli.
The event is organized by the Kazakh-Egyptian Friendship Association.
During the ceremony, Namnam will witness the unveiling of the statue of the Kazakh poet at Al Hurriyah (Freedom) Park near the Opera House in Cairo's Zamalek district.
Dr. Fathy Toghan, the association's secretary general, said the festival reflects the two countries' keenness on boosting bilateral relations in all fields.
The statue was carved by Dr. Osama Sarawy, he said, noting that Kazakhstan's Ambassador in Cairo Warren Perec will be present at the festival.
