The Crown Prince Court in Abu Dhabi (CPC), has mourned the death of Mohammed Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Adviser for Culture and Heritage at CPC, who died yesterday in a traffic accident.
Al Mazrouei was born in Medina Zayed in the Western Region of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. In his childhood, Al Mazrouei was fond of nature, especially falconry, and written and oral Arab literature.
He studied in the US, where he obtained an MA in Management from Oregon State. Al Mazrouei had been the Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH), now known as the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (TCA), as well as Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Media Company. He had made rich contributions towards the preservation of UAE's heritage and culture.
The launch of the International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition in 2003 was the first challenge encountered by Al Mazrouei. In record time, the event became a popular regional and international economic, tourist and cultural festival.
The Authority launched two of the most successful TV poetry programmes in the Arab world. The programmes draw millions of viewers across the Arab world.
In less than two years, the Authority also launched the Abu Dhabi Film Festival, New York-Abu Dhabi Film Academy, Eastern Melodies Festival and the Sheikh Zayed Book Award, Kilmat for Translation Project and many others.
The CPC expressed its profound sorrow and extended solace to the bereaved family and relatives. May Almighty Allah rest his soul in eternal peace.
