The Ministry of Youth and Sport Affairs will launch tomorrow Saturday the 13th edition of the Bahrain Universities Model United Nations (BUMUN) which will be held under the patronage of Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Youth and Sport Affairs Minister Hesham bin Mohammed Al Jowder stressed that BUMUN is one of the pioneering programmes in the Middle East and a distinguished step in the field of youth work.
He added the 13th edition of BUMUN will add to the success story of the programme over the past 12 years through the large scale participation of Bahraini youngsters and their counterparts from the GCC and Arab countries. He underlined the importance of the issues raised which touch the presence and future of the youth.
The minister stressed that choosing the main topic of the programme to be the sustainable development goals 2030 casts light on the importance of the youth in achieving them.
The programme is considered as a platform bringing together youngsters from various universities to debate global challenges including mainly economic and social issues.
