Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi on Tuesday dispatched an envoy to the Lebanese Embassy in Cairo to offer greetings upon Lebanon's 74th Independence memory, and to highlight Egypt's support and siding by the country.
At the Embassy, presidential envoy Abdul Aziz Sherif met with the Lebanese Chargé d'Affaires in Cairo Antoine Azzam, to whom he conveyed al-Sisi's "keenness on Lebanon and its constitutional institutions," as well as his "utter support" for national unity.
Sherif also relayed "Egypt's standing by Lebanon through all the historical and political phases."
For his part, Ambassador Azzam commended President al-Sisi's "generous gesture," confirming Lebanon's appreciation of "the positive and constructive positions taken by Egypt towards Lebanon and its people
