The UAE delegation at the 141st meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, GCC, held in preparation of the 37th GCC Supreme Council Summit, scheduled in December in Bahrain is being led by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Chaired by Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Bahraini Foreign Minister, and attended by the GCC Secretary-General Abdullatif Al Zayani, the ministerial meeting aims to examine the agenda of the Supreme Council covering various political, economic, security and social issues.
The GCC foreign ministers also discussed the bloc's efforts in establishing regional peace and security, the latest regional and international developments, including in Syria, Libya, Iraq, as well as the international counter-terrorism efforts.
They discussed the reports submitted by relevant committees and the GCC Secretariat-General and met with the chair of the advisory committee of the GCC Supreme Council Hamad bin Saud Al Sayyari.
At a meeting with Yemeni Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Abdulmalik Al Mekhlafi, the GCC ministers discussed developments in Yemen.
UAE Ambassador to Bahrain, Abdul Redha Abdullah Al Khouri, Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Jarman, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation for Political Affairs, attended the meeting.
