Kidnapped Egyptian soldier Ahmed Abdel Badie
The mother of one of the Egyptian kidnapped soldiers, Ahmed Abdel Badie, is demanding for Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi to intervene in the crisis.
Amal El Said grew increasingly desperate after watching the recently
released video of the seven abducted soldiers. Bedouin tribe members are thought to be behind the kidnappings.
She told Arabstoday on Sunday: “I’m not even able to stand after watching the video.”
“We received no information about our son for the past four days and we still don’t know when he will be back,” she added through tears.
The mother is calling on Morsi to act fast and ensure the safe return of her eldest son.
Ahmed Abdel-Badie, 20, joined the Egyptian army in January and was at first positioned in the capital Cairo. He has since been in Rafah in North Sinai for the past two months.
El Said said: “No one is talking to us, where is their concern?” Speaking about the Egyptian government, she asked: “Where is their guilt? We are sitting in the street without food waiting for our son.”
She added: "My husband is an old man; I have five daughters and another son who are crying for their brother’s return.”
