The new Sudanese information minister, Ghazi Sadig
The new Sudanese information minister, Ghazi Sadig, convened Monday with the heads of the corporations and institutions which are embraced by his ministry.
In his first convention, Sadig
met with radio and TV officials, to discuss the topics relating to the development of its media and the ministry's role in "reflecting the truth about what is happening in Sudan." The convention also discussed the integration process which will bring the TV corporation, radio corporation and the External Media Council, under one umbrella.
The Sudanese government had earlier decided to integrate the TV and radio corporations, shortly after the now resigned minister, Abdullah Massar was still in his position. However the preparations for this step were not completed until after Massar had resigned his post.
Massar, resigned on the back of a dispute with Awad Jadain, the general director of Sudan's News Agency (SUNA). Massar, has previously sacked Jadain from his position, and put him under investigation concerning suspected irregularities. However president Bashir cancelled Massar's decree.
