State of the art equipment and facilities
Abu Dhabi - Arab Today

Filmmakers with no shortage of cash have the option to use state of the art equipment and facilities for their post production projects, unveiled by twofour54on Tuesday.

Considered one of the region's leading post production facilities, the new additions include multi-purpose suites with editing, audio and colour grading equipment, as well as an 18-seater screening room that has Christie True 4k cinema projection and Dolby surround sound. Post production is the second stage of any film, movie or documentary, after all the filming is done, involving all the studio work and editing.

Twofour54 would not disclose the cost of renting the facilities, it varies depending on the period and the type of facilities rented.

"Twofour54post production gives filmmakers and editors a ‘home away from home' while they are working through their last stages of a project.

"We have ensured that our facilities offer the best standard of equipment and expertise, along with an environment conducive to creativity and collaboration,” said Paul Baker, executive director of twofour54'sTV and film production services.

For at least half a decade now, Abu Dhabi has been pushing to make a name for itself in all aspects of the film industry.

It started with the establishment of the Abu Dhabi Film Commission, a government initiative owned by the Media Zone Authority, Abu Dhabi, just as twofour54which is responsible for offering film locations, filming facilities and filming permits throughout Abu Dhabi emirate for any type of national or international film project. Because of such efforts, places such as Liwa desert or Emirates Palace are making it on the silver screen worldwide through movies like Fast and Furious 7 or Star Wars, which were partially filmed in the emirate recently. According to sources at twofour54, several ‘huge' movie projects will be coming to Abu Dhabi later this year. For now, the new and improved post production facilities are used by a number of Abu Dhabi government film and TV projects.

The facilities offer no discount for Emirati or UAE based filmmakers, but editors and filmmakers wishing to use twofour54's renovated post production facilities can also benefit from Abu Dhabi Film Commission's 30% cash-back rebate on production spent on feature films, television dramas (including series), commercials, music videos, other television formats such as lifestyle, reality, game shows and entertainment programmes shot in Abu Dhabi.
