Bassem Youssef is currently on bail pending investigation
London - Arabstoday

Bassem Youssef is currently on bail pending investigation The Egyptian Administrative Court has dismissed a lawsuit filed by the Muslim Brotherhood against popular comedian, Bassem Youssef. The Brotherhood called for the El Bernameg TV programme by Youssef to be prevented from airing after Youssef criticised President Mohammed Morsi. A lawyer for the Islamist organisation said that the comments went “beyond acceptable criticism.”
Youssef, the satirist at the centre of the current Egyptian censorship row, tweeted earlier “court rejects the MB application to ban the programme.”
Youssef has frequently ridiculed pro-Morsi media and the Muslim Brotherhood. He is currently on bail, charged with threatening public security and making fun of the Islamic prayer ritual.
The case has ignited press freedom worries in Egypt as President Morsi has recently closed a number of TV channels that were critical of the government.
