The Economic Development Board (EDB) this week is hosting a delegation of four finance and economic journalists from Germany and the UK at the Middle East Insurance Forum. The conference, which is celebrating its 10th year, is the
leading regional insurance gathering and is expected to attract 550 attendees representing over 200 leading global organisations. The Middle East Insurance Forum 2014, held with the support of the Central Bank of Bahrain, will gather key decision-makers from the leading Arab and international insurance and reinsurance companies, regulatory agencies, brokers, and banking and finance organisations for discussions that will seek to unlock new growth opportunities in regional insurance markets.
The journalists will be meeting with senior EDB representatives and a number of private and public institutions, such as the Central Bank of Bahrain and Hannover RE.
Their itinerary will also include a number of cultural visits including the Bahrain National Museum and the Bahrain Fort.
Kamal bin Ahmed, Minister of Transportation and Acting Chief Executive of the EDB said: "It is a great pleasure to host so many journalists from leading publications at the Middle East Insurance Forum. Bahrain has hosted the event for the last decade and it is an excellent opportunity to showcase our role as a leading player in the fast-growing regional insurance industry."
