The Lamborghini Huracán GT3 scored its first victory of the season 2016, by winning against thirty-two rival cars in the first round of the German ADAC GT Masters in Oschersleben.
The top step of the podium was climbed by two drivers of the Austrian Grasser Racing Team, Rolf Ineichen and Christian Engelhart, who, with the Huracán GT3, started from fifth position obtained in the morning qualifying session.
At the race start, Engelhart immediately earned a position and remained fourth for most of the first half of the race, always behind the fast leading trio. Thanks to a successful strategy during the pit stop, his companion Ineichen joined the track in second position, behind the Mercedes AMG GT of the team Zakspeed.
At four minutes to the end, the output of the safety car bunched up the group for a thrilling final lap. The Huracán GT3 crossed the finish line in second place, but the penalty imposed on the leading car for not respecting the restart procedure served the victory to the Austrian team.
A year after the victory at its debut in the ADAC GT Masters with the Huracán GT3 with Mirko Bortolotti and Adrian Zaugg behind the wheel, Lamborghini Squadra Corse managed to celebrate another important success. "The opening round of the ADAC GT Masters - commented Giorgio Sanna, Head of Motorsport of Automobili Lamborghini - lived up to our expectations. Winning the inaugural race, which was characterized by pressing qualifying sessions and races, is a great satisfaction for us and this motivates both Lamborghini Squadra Corse and all our customer teams, which work with great professionalism and passion."
