The mecca of country music has become the most popular summer destination in the US this year among users of short-term vacation rental site Airbnb. In its list of top 10 trending US summer destinations, Airbnb found that bookings in
Nashville, Tennessee jumped 365 percent over the last year.
To compile the ranking, booking statistics were compared from Labor Day 2013 through April 2014 for travel from Memorial Day (May 26) through Labor Day (September 1) 2014, against bookings at the same destinations through the same period last year.
Here are the top trending destinations according to bookings made on Airbnb:
1. Nashville, Tennessee 365%
2. New Orleans, Louisiana 340%
3. Palm Springs, California 334%
4. Portland, Maine 328%
5. Santa Barbara, California 320%
6. Oregon Coast 316%
7. The Adirondacks 316%
8. Denver, Colorado 306%
9. Coastal Orange County 306%
10. Boulder, Colorado 291%
