Sheikha Fatima Breast and Ovarian Cancer Centre in Rabat, Morocco H H Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, Chairwoman of the UAE General Women's Union and Chairwoman of The Supreme Council For Motherhood and Childhood, and HRH Princess Lalla Salma, Chairwoman of the Lalla Salma Foundation for cancer treatment and prevention and wife of King Mohammed VI of Morocco, opened on Wednesday the Sheikha Fatima Breast and Ovarian Cancer Centre.
The official inauguration of the Sheikha Fatima Centre was attended by Dr Maytha bint Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State and adviser to Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, UAE ambassador to Morocco Al Asri Saeed Al Dhaheri, Director General of Sheikha Fatima's Private Department, Moroccan Health Minister Al Hussain Al Wardi and a number of Moroccan officials.
Al Wardi gave a presentation before Sheikha Fatima and HRH Princess Lalla Salma on the centre and the health services provided in the field of the treatment of breast and ovarian cancer in addition to the sophisticated medical equipment.
Sheikha Fatima and Princess Lalla Salma toured various medical departments, where they were briefed about the services provided to the patients.
HRH Princess Lalla Salma praised the humanitarian initiatives of Sheikha Fatima, which reflect the strong fraternal relations between the two countries led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and King Mohammed VI of Morocco, citing the donation of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak of establishing the breast and ovarian cancer centre as a striking example.
Princess Lalla Salma presented to Sheikha Fatima the international Award of Lalla Salma Foundation for cancer treatment and prevention in recognition to her efforts of fighting cancer in Morocco.
