Bus to Support Pink Caravan Ride
Sharjah - Arab Today

City Sightseeing Sharjah has allocated one of its fleet of tour buses to support the Pink Caravan Ride, a breast cancer awareness initiative that is travelling around the UAE. A percentage of the proceeds generated by the donated bus from March 7 to April 7 as it drives around Sharjah will go to the Pink Caravan’s campaign to help eradicate the disease.

The allocated vehicle supplied by City Sightseeing Sharjah, a tourism service launched by Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) in collaboration with “City Sightseeing Worldwide” - one of the world's leading bus tour operators - has been decorated with the colours and themes of the Pink Caravan. The campaign organisers hope that the additional vehicle will further its ability to promote its mission and will encourage even more community members and tourists to donate.

Speaking about the loan of the tour bus to Pink Caravan, Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, Chief Operating Officer of Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), highlighted the leadership of Sharjah’s wise directives that encouraged governmental departments and private institutions and bodies to launch such humanitarian and communal initiatives which contribute to building a happy and healthy society.
“Through this humanitarian initiative, City Sightseeing Sharjah seeks to raise funds in order to support the Pink Caravan. It also aims to promote the culture of voluntary work and the participation in national activities among people,” said Al Qaseer.

“Percentage of proceeds of the tour bus, which is travelling around Sharjah for one month during the campaign, will go to the Pink Caravan. Through our participation with the initiative we will be helping Pink Caravan to help spread awareness about cancer, dispel myths, address misconceptions about the disease and promote the importance of early detection. The bus will stop at several stations during its Sharjah tour, Breast cancer awareness booklets and brochures will be handed out at each station,” he added.

City Sightseeing Sharjah’s fleet of buses, have been specially redesigned to accommodate the region’s climate and feature convertible rooftops that can be opened or closed in response to the weather. Free Wifi is also available on all vehicles. City Sightseeing Sharjah is rated #1 out of 28 activities to do in Sharjah by globally respected travel site “TripAdvisor”, with the service offering a range of options including evening tours. Tickets for City Sightseeing Sharjah are available in over 60 locations in Sharjah, Dubai, and Ajman, as well as online at www.city-sightseeing.com.
