Amy Carter, from Nottingham Trent University, has been named the winner of the 2017 FAD Competition. The first runner-up award went to Sarah Carter of Bath Spa University, and the second to Sophie Whatling of Arts University Bournemouth.
Now in its 16th year and organised by creative charity Fashion Awareness Direct, the FAD Competition took place at the Freemasons Hall in Covent Garden on Monday. 2017 sees a collaboration between FAD and knitwear brand Missoni, who challenged contestants to ‘take the Missoni approach’, drawing inspiration from European artists and ‘letting colour take shape.’
Over 120 entrants from 40 UK colleges and universities took part in the 2017 FAD Competition, resulting in a shortlist of 20 finalists.
