Tunisian actress Ferial Youssef
Cairo – Khalid Ali
Tunisian actress Ferial Youssef said she was astonished to hear rumours that she is in dispute with director Ismail Abdel Hafez, because she had to do several re-takes of her scenes in “Ebn El Leil” because Hafez
considered her Upper Egypt dialect not good enough. Ferial denied this happened at all.
In a statement to Arabstoday, Ferial said these reports were "totally wrong" and invited Arabstoday to talk to Ismael Abdel Hafez: "This did not happen even once. I didn’t encounter any problems from the beginning to learn the dialect, and the dialect coach reassured me and asked me to focus on the character and not to think about the dialect issue”.
The Tunisian actress pointed out the timing of the rumours and questioned why they arose now: "I am almost finishing my role in the series. Why wasn't this brought up at the beginning of the shoot? It seems that there is someone who wants to make me unhappy after being happy to complete the series”.
Ferial is playing the role of an Upper Egyptian girl named “Azza” in the series, who is well educated and graduated from a college in Upper Egypt. She falls in love with “Hamed” (Starring Magdy Kamel), but they don't marry because of the difficult financial circumstances of the guy, so she was forced by her family to marry another man. As time goes by, the love inside Hamed’s heart turns to violence towards people around him, and from there the events unfold.
“Ebn El Leil” series stars Magdy Kamel, Ferial Youssef, Youssif Shabaan, Mohammed Abdel Hafiz, was written by Tarek Barakat, and directed by Ismail Abdel Hafiz.
