Amal is preparing her 4th studio album
Egyptian singer Amal Maher is spending long hours in the recording studio to finalise songs for her new collection. The new album is supposed to be in the market by the end of this year.
As for the preparations for the new album, Amal told Arabstoday "I began nearly a year ago, and now I have almost finished six songs, but I still need to choose some new words and music.” She added that she hoped “The album attracts an Egyptian and Arab audience.”
"I did not fix a deadline for the album” stated Amal, “But I expect it to be out at the end of the year.” Amal also noted that like her previous work, the number of songs will not exceed ten.
As for the idea of having a duet on the record she said "The concept needs two similar singers either in voice or thought, or being friends in general. I do not have such friends.” However, Amal did add that it would be possible for her to approach another singer if the project was right. "I respect all singers and I’m sure that the Arab countries are full of wonderful and beautiful voices".
Amal dismissed the idea of making a mini album, backing the idea as an innovative art form, but one that is not suitable for her. “I love to have the complete integrated collection on one album” she said.
After a long absence the signer is working hard to produce high quality songs to restore her place in the music scene. But at the same time she worries about the length of her absence, “The proverb says away from the eye away from the heart.”
