Egyptian actress Anushka
Cairo – Somaia Ibrahim
Egyptian actress Anushka said her role in the television series “Ferket Naji Atallah” (Naji Atallah’s team) was not her best.
In an exclusive interview, Anushka said: “My role in the series was limited as I participated in just 15 episodes.
However, I am honoured to share this experience with esteemed actor Adel Emam, who phoned me personally and asked me to participate in the show. How could I refuse?!” she exclaimed.
She said she was involved in the show since its beginning in 2010, but due to political instability in the Arab world, the show was on hiatus for a while.
Anushka said she is working on a comeback in the music industry, and is currently working on new a song written by Khaled Mounir and composed by Ahmed Nasr.
She recently presented X-Factor Arabia and said: “I believe it’s a great show because it finds new talents and moulds them into superstars,” she said.
She said women in the industry have been constantly subjected to scrutiny. “The Egyptians always say: (God is beautiful and loves beauty), but this saying is not applied. In the past, women wore whatever they wanted and no one criticised them like they do now. I am afraid and concerned about the coming period in this country.”
