Lebanese Singer Elissa
Popular Lebanese singer Elissa expressed her deepest sorrow at the situation in her country Lebanon, and also in Egypt, which she considers her second home.
She said: "This atmosphere has ruined my happiness
with my new album, 'The Happiest One'."
Elissa said in an exclusive interview to Arabstoday: "The situations in Lebanon and Egypt has meant that I will take less of an active role in the publicity of the album, either in press or TV interviews."
The Lebanese star added "I hope my audience like the album, as I made a great effort choosing the words and melodies."
Elissa's latest compilation contains 13 new songs, in addition to a cover of a song by late Algerian star Warda.
The singer collaborated in this album with a group of elite writers and composers from the Arab world, including songwriter, Nader Abdullah, who contributed to three songs: "Optimist", "Will Go Around, Then Come Back To Me" composed by Tamer Ashour and "I Went To Him" composed by Nader Abdullah.
Other songs include: "In your eyes" written and composed by Mohamed Raheem, "The Happiest One" and "I'm Tired Of You" written by Salama Aly and composed by Mohamed Yehia, "Remember?" written by Ahmed Marzouk and composed by Mohamed Raheem, "If I tell You" by Hani Abdel Karim and composed by Madeen, "I hated you" written by Ahmed Mady and composed by Mohamed Raheem.
The album was supposed to be released on June 26, but Elissa and the producing company Rotana decided to release it on the 27th without giving a reason.
