Egyptian Star Nabila Ebaid
Cairo – Khalid Ali
Nabila is happy to announce her return to TV drama this year in the second part of “Kaid Al-Nessa”, confirming that she will be playing a new character to the drama called Halawathom. Speaking to Arabstoday
, she explained that the show's writer explained to her that Halawathom had spent around 25 years in prison. “I haven't played a role like this before and it is a great opportunity to return to my fans with a totally new role.”
Nabila refused to give more details about her role explaining that this might be allowed for cinema parts but in TV drama this can’t be done. All I can say is that after she gets out of prison, she wants to take her revenge.
Since this is a new character, the audience will be looking forward to knowing more about her and the reasons behind her revenge of a character played by Fifi Abdou. Nabila will be adopting the local Egyptian style for the part.
Nabila confirmed that there is no problem between her and Fifi Abdou in the order their names will appear in the credits as this was agreed before signing their contracts The press always raises such matters just to sell more. This was very clear when they mentioned that I was married to the former Minister of Interior Habib Al-Adly and when it was mentioned that I have a relation with Amr Moussa and those rumors what really makes her angry. Nabila denied the rumor about her name should be before Fifi’s name.
As for her relationship with Fifi, especially that this is their first series together, Nabila confirmed “Fifi is my friend from more than eight years, especially after my mom died, she didn’t leave me alone that’s why she is a true friend.
As for working with the director Ahmed Al-Badry who has limited experience in the drama, Nabila said that she is very happy working with him as he is very talented. Since this is a comedy series then I think he will merit in it.
As for the political situation in Egypt and the Presidential elections, she confirmed she don’t have anyone in mind yet but she hopes that everyone put Egypt as his aim to reach a better future together. And for the religious parties and the parliament, she said that people have chosen them and I wish them all them. “I don’t fear them as I’m sure they apply modesty in everything” Nabila said.
AS for Mubarak trial, she said “Mubarak behind the bars scene resembles the justice due to the corruption in his era. I used to ask myself why we had a high unemployment rate. Why slums have increased? “She added that “I was in the States during the revolution and I wished to be in Tahrir Square just to help nursing the injured. “
She denied travelling to the states as escaping from the situation in Egypt. She travelled on the 23rd of January. Just two days before the start of the revolution, to have a surgical operation in her eyes and not for fun. I was following the situation with my ears and my left eye.
Nabila confirmed that she want to bring the revolution into the cinema but she is not so sure who is preparing for such a great work to participate in it.
She said that the former regime was ignoring arts as it was never art friendly regime. The proof for that are the subjects or the cases that were introduced to cinema in the last years were totally not important or useless; although that cinema is the mirror of the society. In addition to having a festival like Cairo Cinema Festival should have helped in having more serious topics.
Finally, for her relationship with the Mariam Fakhr Al-deen after announcing that Nabila wanted to marry Habib Al-Adly. Nabila said: “there is no communication between us but for sure I was angry from what she said especially that I don’t know her reasons to say that. I never thought of marring him and regardless what she said about me, I’m wishing her all the best in her life”
