Egyptian actress Regina
Egyptian actress Regina says she is delighted to be working alongside Ghada Abdel Razek in her upcoming project, Points of Weakness.
Speaking to Arab Today, Regina said: "I can’t describe how happy I am to work with her [Ghada] again, even if it is in a supporting role.”
Regina confirmed that there is no bad blood between her and Ghada, despite the latter being cast in a bigger role. "It's not about the size of the role, it’s about the impact and how central it is to the story," she said.
The actress says she was attracted to Points of Weakness because of director Mohammed Sami, adding he's a "genius in everything."
Regina's played a romantic character in her last series, The Story of Life, but says she's equally as comfortable with acting as a girl suffering from a psychological illness.
The performer previously refused to work with Yahya al-Fakharani in the first season of a series chronicling the stories of the Koran, but has since changed her mind. She will be acting alongside Fakharani this year after her daughters begged her to take the part.
As far as her own family is concerned, Regina says she has no qualms about allowing her daughters to take up acting as a profession. "I don’t mind if my daughters want to be actresses. I'll help them achieve their dream despite my preference not to have them choose this career. I have suffered a lot in this industry but I'll make sure they don't suffer like me."
