Aziz El-Shafei
The Egyptian artist, Aziz El-Shafei, has called on all Egyptians to take part in the Tahrir Square demonstration on Tuesday for the sake of the country.
Calling on his fellow citizens, he stated the importance of the
march as a means to reject the Constitutional Declaration issued by the current president, Mohammed Morsi.
Aziz stressed that slogans of peaceful protests must be raised to eliminate any aspect of tyranny in the country by political forces.
Aziz El-Shafei was the prominent name behind the song "Ya Biladi" which he sang alongside Ramy Gamal. The song achieved great success, especially around the period of the January 25 Revolution.
He wrote the lyrics for the renowned song and composed its melody, which was inspired by the musician Baligh Hamdi.
