A number of Egyptian superstars decided to film their works, including drama shows, films and programs, in a number of archeological sites in an attempt to underline the country’s tourist resorts and to promote tourism during the current critical period witnessed in the country. The new approach adopted by the Egyptian actors comes under the slogan “Support your Country’s tourism” to attract foreign tourists to visit the country.
Egyptian superstar Youssra is scheduled to present a new program entitled “The Date”, as she decided to film the first season of her program in a number of resorts in all over the country. The season is composed of 13 episodes in which they will host 13 superstars from outside the country. She said that she decided to use her new experience to support tourism as one of the vital sectors for Egypt’s economy.
On her hand, Actress Laila Elwy filmed a documentary film entitled “The Nile’s Lady”, in the framework of her campaign as an ambassador for “United for the Heritage”, in participation with French superstar Catherine Aero. They filmed the documentary in Agelica Island which includes Temple of Philae.
The matter is not limited to the TV programs, while extends to the new drama shows, as the new series “Oasis of Sunset” promotes for Egypt’s tourism. A large part of the new series was filmed in Siwa Oasis, Luxor and Aswan. Also Egyptian superstar Hussein Fahmy filmed a large number of his scenes in “The Secret” TV drama show in the Pyramids area and Khan Al Khalili. He prepares currently for travelling to Sharm Al Sheikh to film the rest of scenes.
In the same context, the recent festivals also carried the same objective, including Luxor Festival for African Cinema and Sharm Al Sheikh Festival for Arab and European Cinema. These festivals managed to achieve notable success not only on the artistic level but also on the tourist one, as it provided good image for the Egyptian resorts before the world.
