Boeing's 787 Dreamliner was forced to land during a routine flight
Doha - Arabstoday

Boeing's 787 Dreamliner was forced to land during a routine flight The CEO of Qatar Airways has warned American airplane maker Boeing to "get their act together" after a new 787 Dreamliner plane was forced to land due to a faulty generator. The problem, which also forced a United Continental aircraft into emergency landing, has now had an impact on the Middle East airline.
Speaking to Bloomberg television, Akbar al-Baker said the faults are costly. "These problems are unacceptable because this aircraft has been flying for the last 14 months. They have to get their act together very fast because we at Qatar Airways will not accept any more defects."
Al-Baker revealed that the plane has been grounded since December 9 and they are waiting for Boeing to send spares, with a recovery team. "We will definitely demand compensation. We are not buying airplanes from them to put in a museum," he added.
The plane is the airline's third 787 Dreamliner, and there have been no problems with the other two. Al-Baker confirmed that the company will take delivery of two more Dreamliners on December 19.
