British Minister for the Cabinet Office Francis Maude Tunis – Azhar Jarboui British Minister for the Cabinet Office Francis Maude expressed his country's complete support for Tunisia in fighting corruption and supporting transparency and good governance .
During a meeting with Tunisia’s Prime Minister Ali Larayedh, the British official said that his visit to Tunisia succeeded in holding positive talks with the PM, other cabinet members, and officials about Britain's help and support for the Tunisian efforts.
The British minister said that Tunisia will "succeed in its transitional phase" pointing out that the "period that follows dictatorship" requires more time.
Maude also met with Tunisian politician Abderrahmane Ladgham, Deputy Prime Minister for Governance and Combating Corruption.
Ladgham detailed Tunisian efforts to support democratic governance with transparency, pointing out strategic directions in order to establish open governance in Tunisia.
The Tunisian government, headed by Ennhada party announced its aim to fight corruption from former regime; however the government has faced many legislative and political obstacles.
