Media spokesman for Writers Union in Iraq, Omar Al Sari said in a press statement that, the union decided to nominate poet Muzaffar Al-Nawab for Nobel Prize for Literature, because Muzaffar is a creative experiment, huge patriotic and great addition to the poetry production.
Secretary of International Relations in the Union, poet Gamal Jasem Amin said Al-Nawab was nominated for his outstanding position and for being a poet, a writer, an artist and a fighter. He is also a human carrying a great affection for his country and its people in his heart.
The union formed a specialized committee to supervise the nomination and to communicate with official authorities in order to highlight Al-Nawab achievements. The committee consists of writers, and some intellectuals such as, Fadel Samer as the head of the committee, Gamal Jasem Amin, Mofeed Al-Jaza’re, Sayar Al-Gamil, Malek Al-Matlaby, Hussien Al-Gaf, Riyadh Al-Noamany and Kazem Ghilan.
