Chairman of Zamalek Egyptian club Mamdoul Abbas offered a heartfelt thanks to the Emirati Dubai Ahly club for allowing star player Hussein Zaki to play for their team at the clubs world cup in Qatar.
AlthoughAhly failed to register a victory, the efforts of Hussein Zaki were appreciated by the club. Dr Khaled Hammouda, head of the Egyptian handball federation, also announced the start of the Egyptian professional handball premier league at the end of October. The league, which will feature 15 teams competing over two rounds, will take place six weeks before the handball world championships in Spain in January.
In other news, the Egyptian police handball team has agreed to transfer Imad Abdel Wahab to the UAE handball club for one season, making him the second professional Egyptian handball player in the Emirates team after Hussein Zaki.
