Abraham's record is 26 knock-outs from 32 bouts and two defeats
The Super Six semi-final between German-Armenian fighter Arthur Abraham and American Andre Ward has been confirmed for May 14 after a dispute over the referee
was settled.
The California Boxing Commission has said they will use Puerto Rican referee Luis Pabon rather than a local ref, as was first suggested, for the bout.
"We have won the first round without leaving the country," said Abraham's promoter Wilfried Sauerland, who had threatened to boycott the fight if a Californian referee was used.
After the decision that Pabon will officiate the fight, Abraham travelled with coach Ulli Wegner to California on Sunday morning.
"I am delighted that everything has been resolved and I thank my management for their effort," said Abraham.
The WBA super-middleweight title is on the line and in the final the winner will face either Briton Carl Froch - who beat Abraham last November to regain his World Boxing Council super-middleweight title - or Glen Johnson, who meet on Saturday June 4.
Ward has an unbeaten record with 23 wins including 13 knock-outs, while Abraham's record is 26 knock-outs from 32 bouts and two defeats, but the Berlin-based Abraham says he has a good chance of victory.
"In boxing, everything is possible - especially if you have fire in your fists," he said.
