Saudi Arabia's Prince Nawaf bin Faisal Chairman of the Arab National Olympic Committees Federation Prince Nawaf bin Faisal has confirmed that Saudi Arabia will not field a candidate in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) presidential elections in 2015.
Speaking to reporters in Riyadh, the government official disclosed that the Kingdom would support the recently-elected AFC President Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim al-Khalifa, in his bid to seek re-election in two years time.
Sheikh Salman replaced Mohamed Bin Hammam as AFC chief in the first week of May.
The Saudi Olympic committee initially planned to challenge the Bahraini candidate, before backing him, following criticism from Saudi media outlets.
