Issa Hayatou has been head of CAF since 1988 Issa Hayatou has been re-elected as President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The 66-year old Cameroonian was unopposed in the leadership election in Marrakesh on Sunday, and is set to serve his seventh and final four-year term.
Hayatou was presented with a special certificate by FIFA President Sepp Blatter to commemorate his 25 years at the helm of CAF.
Earlier this month, FIFA executive committee member Jacques Anouma was barred from being a candidate to lead African football, losing his legal challenge to stand for election against Hayatou.
In 2002, Hayatou lost out to Blatter for the FIFA leadership.
