England's players make a wall for a free-kick during the Mexico vs England match England take on New Zealand on Friday with the Three Lions eager for the three points to get their women's World Cup campaign back on track in Group B after a disappointing start against Mexico .
England were held to a 1-1 draw by the Mexicans on Monday in Wolfsburg, the same day New Zealand lost 2-1 to Japan in Bochum, and English goalscorer Fara Williams says her side must beat the Football Ferns.
"We have to go into that game and get three points," said Williams, whose first-half header was cancelled out by a long-range strike from Mexico's Monica Ocampo in Wolfsburg.
"We'll be concentrating between now and the New Zealand game on what we can do to beat them."
With Japan leading the group, there is still all to play for in the fight for a quarter-final berth and New Zealand coach John Herdman has said his side remains buoyant, despite losing to the Japanese.
"The team is still feeling very confident," said Herdman, whose side equalised despite conceding an early goal in Bochum.
"We have already had a 0-0 draw with England and feel their style of play suits us better.
"The Japanese were real quality and to get done by a world-class goal in the 60th minute is nothing to be ashamed of.
"Our strength is in what we showed in coming back from an early goal against a team like them."
Herdman says that in losing to Japan his side have already got their 'toughest game over' with and his team are ready to have 'a good crack' at England.
The Three Lions wilted in the heat in Wolfsburg, but it is expected to be much cooler in Dresden on Friday with temperatures expected to get no higher than 20 degrees celsius and with rain forecast.
"We struggled a bit with the heat but no excuses - we will have to play better if we want to stay in this tournament," said England coach Hope Powell.
All thoughts are now on New Zealand and Williams says the players are remaining positive.
"We’re upbeat," she said.
"One point is one point and we’ve got two more games.
"If we can take three points in the next game and three points from the last game against Japan then we’re still in it."
Williams said England did not take their chances against Mexico, which is something they must correct against the Kiwis.
"We didn’t do the job in the first half when we were on top and (if you don’t do that) against top teams in a World Cup then it’s going to be difficult," she said.
