El Ameri Farouk
Cairo – Omar El Banouby
In preparation for the return of the football league, Minister of State for Sports, El Ameri Farouk, decided to hold a new meeting with the Minister of Interior General Ahmed Gamal Eldin
as well as all presidents of the clubs whose teams are participating in the Egyptian Premier League Competition.
Ameri ensured that neither the Ministry of Sports or Ministry of Interior have any intentions of delaying or cancelling the Premier League competition this season — it will be launched on September 19 as scheduled.
In a TV statement, the Minister of Sport Affairs said that the attack on the headquarters of the Egyptian Federation for football was planned upon political motivations, not sports.
Officials of the Ministry of Interior said that they will confront all forms of violence adopted by the Ultras of Ahly, after the break in and robbery of some contents in the headquarters of the Federation in Cairo.
Local football competitions in Egypt will make its comeback with the Super Cup game between Ahly and Enpi, scheduled September 9 in Borg Al Arab stadium, Alexandria.
