Jerusalem - Arab Today

The Saudi Arabian Cabinet condemned the Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian lands, stressing the full Palestinian sovereignty over the city of Jerusalem.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired Cabinet’s session at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh on Monday.

Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Adel bin Zaid Altoraifi said in a statement following the session that the Cabinet welcomed the statement issued by the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of Member States of Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur on the situation of Muslim minority Rohingya in Myanmar.

The Cabinet stressed its absolute condemnation of all illegitimate settlement activities practiced by Israel in the occupied Palestinian territories.

It also emphasized the centralization of Jerusalem, and its rejection of all attempts that undermine the Palestinians’ right for the full sovereignty over the city, as the capital of the State of Palestine.

The Cabinet congratulated U.S. President Donald Trump on the occasion of taking the oath of office.

It also commended deep-rooted relations between the Kingdom and the United States and Riyadh’s keenness on promoting cooperation in various fields to serve the common interests of the two countries.

Altoraifi said that the Cabinet denounced a bombing that targeted a market in northwest Pakistan and another attack at an army camp in northeastern Mali, which claimed the lives of dozens.

He added that the Cabinet praised the work achieved by Saudi security agencies in fighting terrorism.

In this regard, the Cabinet lauded the successful security operations in Jeddah in which two terrorists were arrested and two were killed.
