Dozens of ISIS fighters raided areas at Mousl’s right bank, as they started a campaign to inspect the housing buildings in response to the killing of an extremist element by unidentified armed people. Meanwhile, the International Coalition’s fighter jets raided a meeting for the group’s leader at Diyali province.
A security source revealed that the military operation was prepared during the recent weeks, as the leadership of International Coalition received intelligence reports over the presence of a number of ISIS leaderships in a building at Tarmia district. He added that the military operation targeted the leaders of extremist group during their meeting on early Saturday.
He added, “The bombardment came upon information from the intelligence authorities over the presence of the group’s leader inside a building in the district. The meeting included over 15 leaders of the extremist group in addition to other elements.”
ISIS was securing the building with explosive devices, saying that an Iraqi unity headed to the building after its bombardment, leading to the bombing of one of the explosives, according to the source, leading to the killing of an officer and four other soldiers.
In Mousl, local residents revealed that ISIS element has been killed by unidentified armed people at the right bank of the city, fully controlled by the extremist group. The militants launched campaign to inspect the housing buildings in the city.
Sources revealed that the extremist militias imposed a security cordon in Ogar and Farouk districts, saying that they inspected the housing buildings searching for weapons and mobiles. They added that one of the militants was killed as he was stabbed by unidentified person.
On the other hand, Iraq’s Prime Minister Haider Al Abadi called the international community for rallying behind the Iraqi government to support stability and services provided to the residents of the liberated cities. He added, during his speech before Munich Security Conference, “We appeal you to help us through implementing program to restore stability and services provided to the residents in the liberated areas.
He added, “We call the international community and humanitarian organizations to provide aids to over three million displaced persons and to help remove the land mines planted by the extremist groups and to qualify the Iraqi community for not adopting the culture of violence.
He stressed the need for taking serious steps not to allow the extremist group from infiltrating to the rest of the world especially that a large number of fighters escaped to their countries in Europe and North Africa. He called for the international cooperation to take serious steps in this regard.
