Part of the Arab delegation during the visit to Gaza Gaza – Mohammed Habib “Every free man in the Arab homeland and every president and Emir in the Arab world, stand beside Gaza and its people,” said Saad al-Katatni, the chairman of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) . Speaking at a press conference held in Gaza during his visit as part of the Arab delegation, al-Katatni said that the people of Gaza “are crying out for the chivalry of Arabs and Muslims in the Arab and Muslim worlds.”
Al-Katatni also said that what the delegation observed in Gaza “makes the heart bleed,” but that these scenes have strengthened their belief in the resistance.
“We are in the same trench as our Palestinian brothers,” he said, stressing that “the Egyptian people as represented by its political parties is with you in your perseverance and will never abandon you.”
“We have seen Israeli criminality amid disgraceful global silence,” the FJP chief said, calling on “the free men of the Arab and Muslim worlds to stand by Gaza.”
Al-Katatni, who headed the delegation which arrived in Gaza earlier today, said that the delegation’s visit was aimed at “stressing our support of the people of the Gaza Strip in light of the constant Israeli violations, killing and destruction.”
Speaking at the press conference held at the al-Shefaa hospital, al-Katatni said the “Israeli aggression kills civilians, destroys residences and assassinated children with American-made weapons.”
Stressing his country’s backing of the Palestinian people and promising “all kinds of support in this battle,” the speaker of Egypt’s now-dissolved parliament called on all Arab kings and presidents to stand by Gaza.
The former member of the Muslim Brotherhood Guidance Bureau said that his country was “no longer a strategic treasure” for Israel, saying that it is now “a treasure for the Palestinian people and the Arab world as a whole.”
Al-Katatni and the delegation of 52 party chiefs entered Gaza through the Rafah crossing and were received by representatives of the government and legislative council. The delegation headed to the Dar al-Shefaa hospital where they visited with the injured and held the press conference. The delegation then paid a visit to the al-Dalu family who lost 11 members in an Israeli airstrike targeting their home.
A number of Egyptian doctors expressed their willingness to operate on Palestinians in Gazan hospitals as a quantity of medicines and medical supplies were also brought in to help treat the injured Palestinians. The medical delegation was headed by the director of the Arab Doctors’ Union Gamal Abdulsalam and Dr Khairy Abduldayim, head of the Egyptian Doctors’ Syndicate.
