US, China boost visa scheme

The United States and China agreed to extend some of their mutual visa arrangements, dpa quoted US President Barack Obama as saying Monday.
Short-term tourist and business visas for Chinese visitors to the US will now be valid for 10 years from date of issue, up from one year, he said.
Student visas for citizens of either country to study in the other will be valid five years, compared with the current duration of one year.
Obama was speaking on the sideslines of the two-day Asia-Pacific Economic Forum summit, which opened in Beijing on Monday.
