The UAE on Tuesday signed an "open" air services agreement with Romania in order to boost the cooperation between the two countries in the air transport sector, the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) said in a statement. The aviation body said that the agreement allows any number of designated airlines of both parties to perform scheduled air services with unlimited capacities, numbers of frequencies and types of aircraft, whether owned or leased by the "designated airlines" of each country in any type of service on the routes between Romania and the UAE. "The agreement also includes, in addition to unrestricted third and fourth freedoms, the possibility to exercise fifth freedom traffic rights while operating all-cargo services," GCAA said in a statement. The agreement was signed in Dubai on Tuesday by Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Minister of Economy and Chairman GCAA and Anca Daniela BOAGIU, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Romania.
