RAK Airways is set to launch flights to Kathmandu in Nepal, the carrier's 11th destination since relaunching services in 2010. The airline said services to Nepal will start on February 15 when it will offer three flights a week to Kathmandu. RAK Airways relaunched operations in 2010 with two routes to Jeddah, and Calicut, India. Omar Jahameh, RAK Airways CEO, said: "Kathmandu is a destination that appeals to both leisure and business travellers. "The tourism industry is a key area of focus for the Nepalese government; last year's dedicated tourism campaign increased visitor numbers by approximately 20 percent." One-way, all-inclusive fares start at AED499 to Kathmandu and return fares start from AED899, he added. RAK Airways added flights to Sudan last month next month, and has over the last 12 months focused on extending its route network across the GCC, Indian sub-continent and North Africa.
