There is a boom of Islamic holidays in Turkey, where according to Milliyet newspaper, the demand for "Islamic Style" hotels have registered an increase of 200% in the last 5 years. This type of hotel is being asked for more and more by the religious conservative component of Turkish society, whose salaries have been on the increase since 2002 and by Muslim tourists coming from Muslim countries all over. Turkey has seen a strong increase in tourism coming from the southern shores of the Mediterranean, following as a matter of fact the political change these countries have been going through. "Our resorts" says the online ad of a Turkish Islamic hotel chain, "do not sell alcohol, they have separate pools, thermal and recreation areas, for both men and women, and of course also our "Halal" food.
