Hertz Australia today introduced Gold Plus Rewards, a loyalty program offering customers more opportunities to earn and redeem Hertz reward points for rental reward days in over 15 countries and territories around the world. Gold Plus Rewards supersedes the previous Hertz #1 Awards program by adding a wide range of reward options including points that never expire, ‘AnyDay’ rewards that have no blackout periods, easy online redemption and the ability to earn and redeem points internationally. To build awareness of the new program and the benefits it offers, Hertz is offering Australian customers a Double Points Earning Bonus for rentals completed between 1 June and 31 August, 2012, for members of the Hertz #1 Club and Hertz #1 Club Gold. These points can be used towards rewards days (free time and mileage for a day’s rental) in the participating markets. “Gold Plus Rewards is the most advantageous rewards program in the car rental industry with points that don’t expire or have blackout dates, and which can be earned or redeemed internationally,” said Chris Rusden, Hertz Region Vice President Australasia. “After considering extensive feedback from our customers, we’ve designed our new program to enable members to quickly accumulate and begin using their free rental days, not just in this region but in participating Hertz markets around the world. We’re also enabling all customers to take advantage of our premiere, expedited rental process.” Members who elect to join Gold Plus Rewards earn one point per US Dollar equivalent spent on qualifying Hertz rentals. Gold Plus Rewards may be redeemed for as few as 500 points for a weekend rental rewards day in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, 800 points for a weekend rental day in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom; and 1,200 points for a weekday or weekend rental day in Brazil. Points are tracked automatically and can be redeemed online. Each time a member earns points, their total points renew for an additional 24 months, which means they do not have to worry about points expiring.
